Exercising away from home

Using your own bodyweight for exercise is 100% portable.

We’re constantly consumed by notebook computers, Blackberries and Personal Digital Assistants as we zoom around the country for business or pleasure. We count on portable devices for portable times. Our lives fit into our digital pockets. There’s not a pixel to spare, because be able to act quickly. That’s just the theme of the times we live in.

With such a life, going to the gym becomes an added burden, simply because it limits you to one location. The modern Road Warrior requires a training system that is as portable as they are.

With bodyweight training, your exercise travels with you. You can download bodyweight workouts and video clips that fit in your portable computer. Equipment? You don’t need it. Using only gravity as resistance, and you’re body already travels with you wherevery you go.

When you’re pressed for time, nothing beats bodyweight training.  Beyond our ever increasing mobility, we’re ever more tight for time. We must constantly narrow down our activities down to the bare essentials, getting more done with less.

Who can afford a stressful trek to the health club.  Who has the time for getting changed and showered, and then having to spend much of a one-hour session waiting around for equipment to free up? {It’s just a lousy return on time invested to workout} at a It simply isn’t a good return on your time investment.

Bodyweight exercise makes that burden of “showing up” irrelevant. You can do it anywhere, in the smallest of spaces, and without equipment. And your exercise is intense and quick, allowing you to nail off your training in 20 intense minutes, rather than an hour of train-stop-train.

You don’t attain that intensity with countless pushups and situps. You hit it with something more intense, something designed to take you to your limits as expediently as possible. Therein lies the next evolution in bodyweight exercise.

It’s cheap.  Considering the uncertainty of the current economic situation, costly health club dues are tough to justify. When banks are hanging by a thread, governments are going bankrupt, and our investments are shrinking, luxuries are all that much harder to consider. In this day and age, health club dues are considered luxuries.  But bodyweight workouts are free. And as a result you can free yourself and your pocket book.

So if your hectic schedule has you constantly on the go, try using bodyweight exercise as an alternative to keep you fit and healthy.  With a little imagination, you can design yourself an efficient routine that can be done even in the most cramped quarters.  Tiny hotel rooms aren’t any longer an excuse for not working out. Five minutes and a few square feet are all you need to get a total workout on the road.
