What You Must Do If You Want To Retire Happy

It appears almost everyone wants to retire happy and wealthy at the same time, fair and fine. But is reaching the age of retirement happy and content really attainable? My answer would be yes, it is very possible. But before that happens it makes sense to place the necessary structures in place do that you retire with peace of mind.

The most important thing to do when planning for retirement is to ensure that you have a retirement annuity or a pension fund. This is the facility whereby you save money in a certain account that you will be able to access once you retire. Such a fund will give you financial security when you do reach the age of retiring. But sometimes this just isn’t enough.

But it won’t help much if you simply have a retirement fund if such a fund doesn’t have a facility for revaluing your savings to go in line with inflation. So make sure you make an enquiry to that effect so that you can choose options that can revalue your savings in line with inflation. If this isn’t possible you can open a foreign currency account and have your savings converted to a stable currency.

If you’re still in your thirties without children of your own you must think hard about having children. This is because in retirement such family and grandchildren will give you company and companionship when you’re too old to work. The grandchildren can visit once in a while and your home will be electrified as if a takamine acoustic guitar was playing somewhere in the background.

Some people reach their retirement years without an idea how they are going to achieve balance in their lives. Hate it or love it but you will need some sort of emotional; spiritual; physical and mental balance. This effectively means that your emotions must always be kept in check with positive thoughts; your diet must be well supplied with all the healthy ingredients and your spiritual sense is intact. Not having any of these can be very confusing and stressful indeed. This is what holistic healing is about.

The best way to cope with the empty void that can materialize during retirement is by making enough friends during your days as a young adult. It is at this time that the fondest memories are made and once you share retirement with such friends you will always have things to talk about this is very different from when you have no friends. If you don’t have friends retirement can e painfully long.

Resolving all disputes and disagreements you might have had will help you clear your chest of stresses that can make your retirement a living hell. Ironing out differences will give you peace of mind as you might begin to worry about past enemies more often because you don’t have much to do.
